Aerobic exercise is good for your heart. Yoga is also good for your heart. No comes a study from researchers at the HG SMS Hospital, in Jaipur, India, suggesting that combining yoga and aerobic exercise is roughly twice as beneficial as doing one or the other. Science Daily reports that researchers divided 750 people who had been diagnosed with coronary heart disease into three groups. One group of 225 did aerobic exercise, another group of 240 practiced Indian yoga, and a third group of 285 did both yoga and aerobic exercise. After six months, the aerobic exercise only and yoga only groups showed similar reductions in blood pressure, total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, weight and waist circumference. But those who combined yoga and aerobic showed a two times greater reduction compared to the other groups.
