The more you sweat, the better you smell. That, at least, is the claim of researchers at Queen’s University in Belfast, who have come up with a perfume delivery system that releases more of its aroma when it comes into contact with moisture. Hence, the more you sweat, the more aroma is released, and the better you smell, if you happen to like the aroma. A Queen’s University news release reports that the perfume system also has the ability to remove the bad odors that come from sweat, because the sweat’s bad smelling ‘thiol’ compounds are attracted to the liquid, attaching themselves to it and losing their potency. Sounds great; how do we get some? Here’s the answer: Researchers are currently working with a perfume development company to identify a number of product ideas that could eventually be sold in shops.
I hate the smell of perfume in the gym. I’d rather smell sweat than some obnoxious perfume aroma.
