How good is physical therapy for lower back pain? Not so good, according to researchers at the University of Utah, who followed more than 200 people with recent-onset low back pain who were randomly assigned to physical therapy or no treatment for the first month after their pain began. HealthDay reports that three months in, the researchers did notice some modest improvement in the ability to move among those who did physical therapy, which included back manipulation and exercise, but after a year, they found no difference in those who did therapy and those who did none. What about pain? Nope. There was no reduction of pain after one month, three months or one year of therapy. What to do? Julie Fritz, a professor of physical therapy at the University of Utah, says the best thing for lower back pain is to keep moving, even when it hurts.
Physical therapy did not help me in fax it gave me more pain. The
only thing that help me is pain pills, that I do not like to take but
I have to. My lower back is so bad I do not know what to do any more.
I can get a op on it, but everyone I talk too said do not do it. John
YOU DIDN’T SAY EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG WITH YOUR BACK. LOOK AROUND AND IF ALL SAY SURGERY GO WITH IT BECAUSE YOU CAN’T LIVE ON THE PAIN PILLS SO EASY TO GET ADDICTED,
