Latest Treatment For Chronic Pain: Don’t Think About It

Researchers in the psychiatry and behavioral science department of Johns Hopkins Medical School have some radical advice for sufferers of chronic pain: don’t think about it. Isn’t that what my mother used to say? Futurity reports that researchers at the school surveyed 214 people with myofascial temporomandibular disorder, or TMD, serious facial and jaw pain, about their sleep quality, depression, pain levels, and emotional responses to pain, including whether they ruminate on it or exaggerate it. Guess what? The scientists found a direct correlation in the TMD patients between negative thinking about pain and poor sleep, as well as with worse pain. Read more from Futurity.

TO THE RESEARCHERS @ JOHNS HOPKINS WHO CAME UP WITH THE RESPONSE FOR CHRONIC PAIN SUFFER’S “JUST DON’T THINK ABOUT IT” I HAVE TWO TRAINS OF THOUGHT…CASH YOUR PAYCHECKS QUICK BEFORE THE BOARD REALIZES WHAT KIND OF MORONS THEY HAVE ON THEIR PAYROLL, SECOND, WHEN YOU SUFFER FROM CHRONIC PAIN THERE ARE VERY FEW OTHER THINGS TO THINK ABOUT….SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF “WHEN YOU’RE UP TO YOU’RE ASS IN ALIGATORS IT’S REALLY HARD TO STAY FOCUSED THAT YOU’RE GOAL WAS TO DRAIN THE LAKE”! TEST FOR REASERCHERS…..PUT BABY ALLIGATORS AND ALLOW THEM TO BITE DOWN ONE ON EACH NIPPLE…TELL ME HOW LONG YOU CAN GO ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT!
