The Boston Globe takes us on a trip back in time with this series of videos of fitness trends we'd all like to forget. Again. Anyone remember Thighmaster? How about Cheryl Ladd sliding into shape? Nordic track was cool. How about Jazzercize? The Ab Rocket? Tony Little and Darla Haun. And finally, Billy Blanks Tae Bo Amped.
Read more in the Boston Globe. And watch Cheryl Ladd below.

That jazzercise workout looks cool, though you’d have to update the script from “Watch out, Dr. J” to “Heads up, LeBron.”

We toured an old gym in Arkansas where they used wooden balls. Also the womens and mens facilities were completely separated.
You’re right Dan, my wife is at Jazzercise as I write this. It’s still going strong here in Lake Tahoe.

Time did not forget Jazzercise ! (Neither did Newsweek.)
“Today, Jazzercise involves 7,800 instructors teaching more than 32,000 classes weekly in all 50 states and 32 countries. In 2009/2010 Jazzercise reported 96 Million in revenue. On the 2011 Entrepreneur Franchise 500 list, Jazzercise ranks as the #1 fitness franchise and #17 overall. In March 2009, MSNBC placed Jazzercise in their top 5 list of proven franchises that provide growth opportunity. Jazzercise has partnered with two-time “Dancing with the Stars” champion Cheryl Burke, a company spokesperson through 2011.”
