Southern California has always impressed Geezer as a nice place to have a drink, but now comes a report from researchers at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA suggesting that "more than a third of drinkers 60 years old and older consume
amounts of alcohol that are excessive or that are potentially harmful in
combination with certain diseases they may have or medications they may
be taking." The data comes from 3,308 people who used medical clinics in Santa Barbara.Most were white, married, well-educated, and could afford to live in Santa Barbara.The study, published in the current online edition of the Journal of General Internal Medicine, also found
that at-risk drinking was associated with being younger, white and less
educated.

Why are all your recent stories about people over 60 shown in a negative light? I thought you supported people over 40 who still like to play hard. I am over 60 and I play hard, so you should rededicate yourself to your stated purpose.
This “study” does not disclose who funded it. the reseach report includes the word “generalizable” so one must even question their command of the English language! What were the criteria for “potentially harmful”. Please when reporting on studies like this give us more information. A very unimpressive bit of reporting.
