It’s good news or bad news, depending on who you married: researchers at Michigan State University have found that, contrary to popular belief, married couples do not become more similar over time. Any similarities in personalities were probably there from the get go, and were, unsurprisingly, probably part of the attraction. A university news release reports that researchers analyzed data from personality tests of 1,296 couples who were married an average of 19.8 years. While the study showed that couples did not become more
alike over time, there was one personality trait that proved to be an
exception: aggression.
