Are your multivitamins keeping you awake? The short answer is "possibly, but probably not." Writing in the New York Times, Anahad O'Connor tackles the widely accepted conviction that multivitamins can disrupt our sleep. O'Connor cites a 2007 study of hundreds of people who answered questions about sleep and vitamins, and found a slightly higher rate of poor or interrupted sleep in people taking multivitamins, but not enough of a connection to draw any scientific conclusions. He also reports that studies have shown that ingesting vitamin B6 before bed can lead to very vivid dreaming, and that vitamin B6 helps the body convert tryptophan to serotonin, a hormone that affects sleep. Other studies have shown that vitamin B12 can affect melatonin levels, promoting wakefulness. What to do if you suspect that vitamins are keeping you up? O'Connor suggests taking your vitamins in the morning.

No!Vitamins don’t keep me awake! If you are a child of God? You wont have that problem. His Word says in Psalms4:8-I will lie down and(sleep), for you alone,O Lord, make me dwell in safety. If their is nothing on you’re mind but good, you get a good nights sleep. And remember,”God gave you a gift today,86,400 seconds. Have you used just one to say Thank You Lord.” As always have a Blessed Day!
Dear Bill, do you really think this is the way to win people over to Jesus? He loves us that is the message to be shared, not one that makes people feel guilty for not being able to fall asleep at night.
For all of you insomniacs out there, i feel your plight and i don’t condemn you. God doesn’t either and he wants to help you find the answer to your problems. ask him, you’ll see.
