Lawsuit Says Coke’s Vitaminwater Not the Real Thing

How much of a real thing is Coca-Cola’s Vitaminwater? Not so much, according to nutritional experts at the Center for Science in the Public Interest. The Financial Times reports that CSPI is backing
a law suit that accuses Coke of making deceptive claims about the health benefits of the drinks. Vitaminwater’s marketing claims that its “balance
cran-grapefruit” flavour has “bioactive components” that promote
“healthy, pain-free functioning of joints, structural integrity of
joints and bones”.The paper quotes Steve Gardner, CSPI’s head of litigation, describing vtaminwater as
“Coke’s attempt to dress up soda in a physician’s white coat”.

  1. I’ve had the grape-flavored one a few times and then I read a story in New York magazine that said this Vitaminwater stuff is basically just sugar water. No more for me.

  2. my husband and i drink vitaminwater in the place of sodas at the rate of 4 or 5 each a day.at least they have less sugar per serving than sodas.
