Just when we thought the world had run out of good news, researchers at a reputable institution have found evidence that drinking as little as half a glass of wine a day could add five years to our lives. Geezer is certain that the scientists, who work at the Netherlands’ National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, have done first-rate work. Science Daily reports that the study group consisted of 1,373 randomly selected men whose cardiovascular health and life
expectancy at age 50 were repeatedly monitored between 1960 and 2000. The researchers, who looked at how much alcohol the men drank and what
type it was, determined that light long term alcohol consumption of all typesâ€â€up to 20 grams a
day extended life by around two extra years compared with no alcohol
at all. Extended life expectancy was slightly less for those who drank
more than 20 grams. Science Daily reports that men who drank only wine, and less than half a glass of it a day,
lived around 2.5 years longer than those who drank beer and spirits,
and almost five years longer than those who drank no alcohol at all.

what kind of red wine. wondering about white wine too is that any good? health wise
…and what if I drink a full glass of red wine every day? Half glass is so boring.
How could such a minor amount and ONLY that amount make so much difference? I feel intuitively that some confounder was not discovered in the analysis of these results.
