How to Get the Smell Out of Gym Clothes

First, a disclaimer: Geezer has not tried WIN detergent, the allegedly amazing odor-removing clothes washing detergent, and he probably won’t try it until his squash partners complain loudly about his body odor, which is at the moment one of the least offensive attributes of his squash game. But Geezer has heard so much about WIN that he thought he’d at least pass this on. Most recently, the reliable L.A. Times staff writer Jeannine Stein gives us a column that no marketing budget could buy, essentially promising that WIN and its secret ingredient will remove from gym clothes odors that no other detergent could, (or would want to) get close to. And last October, the U.S. Olympic Committee issued this press release pronouncing WIN the Official Licensed Laundry Detergent of the U.S. Olympic Team.  The release claims that "independent testing at Shuster Laboratories in Canton, Massachusetts has
proven WIN’s superiority over traditional leading detergents and
specialty products in removing sweat and odor from all fabrics."  Whatev.
