Forget about putting off running because there’s too much air pollution. A new study from the University of Copenhagen finds that the benefits of exercise trump the negative effects of air pollution, at least when the measure is mortality. A news release from the University of Copenhagen reports that researchers at the school studied the exercise habits of more than 52,000 people, 50 to  65 years old, and living in two cities: Copenhagen and Aarhus. The researchers then measured air pollution at the addresses of the study subjects. The envelope please…… The researchers observed about 20 percent fewer deaths among those who exercised than among those who didn’t exercise, even for those who lived in the most polluted areas, in central Copenhagen and Aarhus, or close to busy roads and highways.
