One Glass Of Wine Makes You Better Looking

We all know the joke about how a couple of drinks can make a potential suitor look more attractive; now comes research from the University of Bristol suggesting at a single glass of wine can make the drinker of that wine more attractive. A U of Bristol news release reports that psychologists at the school asked 20 men and 20 women to look at pictures of people who had been photographed while sober, after drinking 250 ml (one glass) of wine, and after drinking twice that amount. They were then asked to rate the images according to their attractiveness. The good news? The raters found people who had consumed one glass of wine most attractive. The less good news: people who drank more than one glass of wine were considered less attractive than those had only one glass. What’s up with that? The researchers think vasodilation associated with alcohol consumption could lead to an increase in facial flushing, which is perceived as healthy and attractive.  Low doses of alcohol may also result in an increase in positive mood that is apparent in subtle smiles and more muscle relaxation.
