Testosterone Is Good for Your Heart, And Other Things

Yes gentlemen, testosterone can work wonders for men suffering from erectile dysfunction, but as women know better than men do, men have more than one moving part. As as it turns out, testosterone is good for a few of those things too: like the heart, skeletal and muscular health as well as healthy blood vessels and red blood cells. BU Today reports on the manifold benefits of testosterone, and on the unfortunate consequences of low testosterone, which affects nearly a third of men between 35 and 60. The good news:
Men can increase their testosterone levels through exercise, a healthful diet, and avoiding stress.

I am a 70 year old male. My doctor prescribed testosterone therapy for me 3 years ago. I cannot thank him enough. It has allowed me to continue working 10 hour days in business, followed by an hour and one-half of weight lifting and aerobic exercise at the gym. Prior to the testosterone, I was showing signs of depression; my mind was wandering; my energy level was very low and I couldn’t figure out what was happening to me.

  2. I was feeling tired all the time, cholesterol was high, blood pressure too high, forever in to the MD with a sinus or lung infection. I was working out at the gym three-four days a week but my joints were killing me and my muscles weren’t gaining. I asked my doctor if I might have low T. He checked it out and … WOW, way too low! I could have had a heart attack. I started with a T-gel and 8 months later I’m feeling much better! My cholesterol is dropping, muscles are getting stronger and I have energy again. My blood pressure has dropped some too. Guys, it’s worth looking into! So glad I didn’t just opt to go on Lipitor or some other statin and never check this out. I urge you to ask your doctor about it.

I’ve been taking T-Injection every two weeks since I was 62 years young, now I’m 73 years young and going strong. My numbers are excellent and I see my doctor every 6 months or less. I recommend every male 60 and above take T-shots, but first, have it checked to see if it’s appropriate to take.

  4. What if you have prostate cancer and they give a person hormone shots to kill the cancer? That eliminates the testosterone. Do I just lay down and die? Do I expect to have heart failure? No matter which way you go, I doubt some of this treatment the doctors follow. With the Hormone way, you wouldn’t believe the hot flashs you get and other side effects.

  5. To say the link between testosterone and prostate cancer has been debunked is too strong. My oncologists at Memorial Sloan Kettering and Columbia Presbyterian both prescribed a hormone treatment to fight cancer even though my testosterone is below 300.

The contraindications for Testosterone therapy are-
    1. Cancer of the prostate.
    2. Enlarged prostate.
    3. Polycythemia- (increased red cell counts is one of the main features.
I was falling asleep at the computer at 6pm, after working about14 hours, at age 63. My hemoglobin was 13.5 grams. all the workup for anemia was negative- sbut my T level was low. Since I started on T gel, my Hemoglobin is 14.8 to 15, and I put in 16 hours a day without much problem.
First check your Urologist check your prostate and PSA before starting on the T replacement therapy.
REMEMBER TOO MUCH ISN’T GOOD EITHER!!
Here is to strong bones, good heart and great sex!!
