Competitive Sports Boost Testosterone

It’s the old chicken or the egg conundrum: does testosterone compel men to play more competitive sports, or do competitive sports boost testosterone? Researchers at the University of Washington are putting their competitive money on the latter. A university new release reports that researchers at the school have found that a rousing soccer game can boost the testosterone levels of the normally testosterone-lite men of the Tsimane tribe of  Bolivia by 30 percent.  The bad news? Just an hour after the game, the increase is only 15 percent.
