Runners are the most frequent victims of knee pain, but as field sports like soccer gain in popularity among adults, doctors are listening to ever more complaints about needy knees. The New York Times reports that knee pain is now running a close second to back pain as the most common physical disability seen by sports medicine physicians. Now, according to the Times, several new and promising therapies offer alternatives to surgery. Evidence suggests that sufferers of knee pain would do well to take less vitamin C, and a lot more ginger.
