Pinot Noir: New Zealand v California

OK, we didn’t write this:"If a wine could make a person cry, it would have to be a pinot noir. A wine like this is bound to have a pretty big mystique, and pinot noir wears its like a rap star wears gold. It’s a femme fatale. It’s a temperamental artist. It’s very sensitive." It was written by Eric Asimov for the New York Times, but it so happens that we do agree with it. We even like the writing.  Yes, it’s true. That’s why we pass along this inspiring comparison of 12 pinot noirs from the Central Coast and 12 from New Zealand. Read it all, and drink at least a few of these, especially the fave, a 2001 Peregrine from the Central Otago region of New Zealand. A steal at $24.
