A new study published in the British Medical Journal threatens to add omega-3 fish oils to the list of foods that don’t do what they were supposed to do for our health. Reporting on the study, CBS News writes that British researchers looked closely at 89 studies that measured the effect of omega-3 fatty acids on heart
attack, death, cancer, and strokes, and failed to find any clear
benefit of omega-3s in reducing the risk of these health hazards. Geezer, who for years had omega-3 confused with a star cluster in Galaxy Quest, is not giving up on the fishy oils. He has read the editorial in the British Medical Journal that assures us that "For the general public, omega 3 fat is good for health."
I’m with you – I’m not giving up on fishy oils either, but [I tink] more research is suggesting that it’s best when one actually eats fish, as opposed to taking pills. Love the blog by the way!
So a study of studies yields no data? How about they conduct their own experiments?
