Heavy Stubble Attracts Women

“Beard or no beard?” that is the question. The answer, from researchers at the University of Queensland, is beard, but light beard, at least if the goal is to make yourself attractive to women. The New York Times reports on the research, which divided a group of more than 8,500 women into three smaller groups, and showed each of those groups pictures of the same men with varying degrees of facial hair: clean shaven, light stubble (five days of growth) heavy stubble (10 days of growth) and a thick beard representing about one month of growth. Which men did the women think were the most sexy?  Not the clean shaven men, and not the men with full beards. Stubble came in first in two categories. Light stubble came in first for women looking for a short term commitment, and heavy stubble appealed to women looking for a longer commitment.
