Where Living Is Easy(est)

Geezer learned long ago that every one of us has to be someplace at all times. Yes, it’s a burden, and some of us don’t have much choice in the matter, although many of us do. Some of us have unique criteria for preferable places, and some of us look for the normal stuff, stuff like income and leisure time. Now, thanks to Federal Reserve Board senior economist Elena Falcettoni and University of Houston economist Vegard M. Nygaard, we have a state by state comparison of several criteria that have the potential to make our lives more pleasant. It’s true that their data is a few years old, but hey, it was the most recent they had to work with when they began the complicated 30 page study. Fortunately, tireless data freaks at the Washington Post have translated the findings to a much less complicated state specific map of the United States where readers can simply role their cursor of a particular state and see how it rated.
