About 50 percent of men over the age of 50 have enlarged prostates. Yes, it’s unpleasant, and it’s what keeps many men getting up several times a night to pee. For years, surgery and meds have been the most common treatments, and both can have unpleasant side effects, including, yes, sexual dysfunction.  Now, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal, comes a new treatment, one that uses blasts of steam to kill prostate cells and can reduce the size of prostates by a third.  It’s called NxThera therapy, and like another new treatment, an implanted device called UroLift, it is said to leave sexual function functioning.
