Think it’s good that your doctor hasn’t suggested that you get more exercise? Before jumping to that conclusion, take a look at the fitness of your doctor. Researchers presenting at a meeting of the American Heart Association report that fit, active doctors were two to five times more likely than inactive doctors to recommend exercise to their patients. HealthDay reports on the presentation, which also reported that programs to improve doctors’ physical activity levels improved the doctor’s confidence and ability to provide exercise advice to patients. The findings are based on an analysis of 28 studies on health care providers’ physical activity and the exercise counseling they gave to patients. Read more from HealthDay.
