The “Apple A Day” Thing Works, Somewhat

Hard to believe, but an apple a day may actually keep some doctors away, some of the time. Researchers at Ohio State University have learned that consumption of one apple a day for four weeks lowered by 40 percent blood levels of a substance linked to hardening of the arteries. OK, the study group didn’t actually eat an apple a day, but they did take a pill containing the type of antioxidants found in apples. It also notes that the study was paid for by the apple industry. Read more from Ohio State.
