Study: Women Happy With Sex Lives, With Or Without Sex

In scientist-speak, the major revelation of research recently conducted at UC San Diego is “a nonlinear model of sexuality in older women,” which in everyday English means that women don’t always (or even usually) have sex because they want sex: they have sex for reasons that include nurturing and affirming relationships. And men, listen up: yes, they are happy with that model, thanks. The Los Angeles Times reports on the study, which surveyed 806 women between the ages of 40 and 100 (yes, 100) and found that women 55 and over 80 were most satisfied with their sex lives. In fact, almost half of all women who hadn’t had sex in the past month were satisfied with their sex lives. The Times reports that the study, published in the American Journal of Medicine, revealed that while only one in five women who had sex in the past month frequently felt a high level of sexual desire, 61 percent were moderately or very satisfied with their sex life. Virtually none of the older women said they felt sexual desire, but half said they were almost always satisfied during sexual activity. Confused? Read the study here. Read more in the L.A. Times.

This study looks same as we ask homeless people if they are happy to be homeless.
My point is without formal understanding of society these studies are useless.
