Remember this: six minutes of exercise can jump your memory into high performance, or at least higher performance. How many minutes? Researchers at the University of California at Irvine showed people between 50 and 85 years old pictures of pleasant things, like animals and nature, then asked them some of them to exercise on a bike for six minutes at 70 percent of their maximum capacity. A UC at Irvine news release reports that an hour later, when the participants were given a surprise recall test on the image, those who rode the bike had significantly better recall than those who didn’t.
