If there’s a lesson to be learned from a recent look at the health benefits of massage by researchers at Emory University, it is this: Once is not enough. An Emory news release reports that earlier study revealed that healthy people who undergo a single session of Swedish Massage experience measureable beneficial changes in their body’s immune and endocrine response. Now the same Emory researchers have doubled down and looked at the benefits of twice-weekly massages for five weeks. Readers will not be surprised to learn that when it comes to massage, more is better. The researchers found that repeated massages extend the health benefits for up to a week. Read more from Emory.
