OK, maybe it’s not pollenogeddon, but it is more pollen, and more pollen, and more pollen, until by 2040 there will be twice as much pollen in the air as there is now. So says the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology, whose members may be hoping to take the rising pollen count to the bank. A news release from the organization cites research conducted at Rutgers that predicts that changing weather, yes global warming, will also change plant growth, which will boost the pollen count from the 8,455 we saw in 2000 to 21,735 in 2040.
