Does exercise make us hungry? Or not hungry? The answer, apparently, is “generally, it makes us less hungry than no exercise.” But, Gretchen Reynolds warns in a Well column in the New York Times, that goes for most people, but not all people. Reynolds directs us to research conducted at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, where MRI machines tracked the mental responses to pictures of food for two groups of people, one that had just worked out a stationary bike for an hour, and one that had sat quietly.
