30 Minutes of Exercise Loses More Weight Than 60 Minutes

Finally, numbers that tell us something we want to hear: 30 minutes of exercise a day can help you lose more weight than 60 minutes of exercise. It’s true. Researchers at the University of Copenhagen followed 60 heavy – but healthy – Danish men who were trying to get in shape for 13 weeks. Half of the men worked out for an hour a day, running, rowing, or biking, while wearing a heart-rate monitor and calorie counter, and the second group worked out for 30 minutes. Holy calorie burn!  The researchers found that on average, the men who exercised 30 minutes a day lost 3.6 kilo  (eight pounds) in three months, while those who exercised for a whole hour only lost 2.7 kg (six pounds). How did that work? Nobody knows for sure, but the researchers suspect that  doing just 30 minutes of exercise may leave us with the desire and energy to do more physical activity when we’re done.
