Every once in a while, technology remembers that it exists to serve biology, or at least the biology of humans who built it. In the interest of that priority, Apple recently released a list of the company’s top ten health apps for 2011. The Boston Globe publishes the full list here. Below, see the top five:
1. iMuscle presents a 3-Dimensional human body with the musculature exposed, along with exercises associated with the development of each muscle. The app creates customized workouts for development of specific muscles. Costs $1.99 to $4.99
2. Nike Training Club is a free app that gives you your own personal trainer, with more than 60 custom-built workouts, and training regimens from five professional athletes.
5. The popular P90X workout program now, unsurprisingly, has an iPhone app that lets you track of your sets, reps, and weights, view your progress, log your nutrition, and share your results. Cost: $4.99.
