Gary Player is 75, but the golfer who was known as "Mr. Fitness" five decades ago has yet to abandon his rigorous daily workout. The Wall Street Journal reports that every morning, Player does 1,000 situps on a medicine ball (holding light weights) and 1,000 pushups. Then he does three sets of 20 to 25 repetitions of lunges and squats and then another three sets while holding light weights. The paper reports that when Player is at his house in Jupiter Island, Fla., he jogs for 30 to 45 minutes on a treadmill, and when he's at his ranch in South Africa, he walks, runs, or jogs up 200 stairs that he had built into a hill. At both homes, he swims for 20 minutes just using his legs to kick while holding onto a paddleboard. Diet-wise, Player eats half the portion size he used to, and eats as many fruits and vegetables as possible and avoids animal fats.
