It’s Official: Exercise Improves Sleep By 65 Percent: Here’s What It Means

First the numbers: 150 minutes of exercise a week has been shown to improve sleep 65 percent. What does that mean? According to researchers at the Oregon State University who conducted the study, it means the risk of feeling overly sleepy during the day compared to never feeling overly sleepy during the day decreases by 65 percent. An OSU news release reports that when researchers surveyed 2,600 men and women, ages 18-85, asking about exercise habits and quality of sleep, they also found that people who did 150 minutes of exercise a week were 68 percent less likely to have leg cramps while sleeping, and 45 percent less likely to have difficulty concentrating when tired. Good night. Read more from OSU.
