Forget About Ginkgo Biloba

Thinking about enhancing your memory with ginkgo biloba? Forget about it, if you already haven’t. The Tufts Health & Nutrition Letter reports on research conducted at the University of Pittsburgh that showed that the herbal supplement, for which Americans pay $250 million a year, does nothing a good placebo can’t do. Tufts reports that 3,069 participants, aged 72 to 96, were randomly assigned to receive either ginkgo or identical doses of a placebo. Over an average followup of a little more than six years, researchers found no evidence for an effect of ginkgo on memory, language, attention, visuospatial abilities and executive functions. The researchers noted that the findings are consistent with previous smaller studies and with a 2009 review of the scientific evidence.

  3. Let me try again,my last comment didn’t get posted. So here goes,To (Mr.Art Cheaper!)”Its much easier to be critical than to be correct.” And you Sir are incorrect in thinking that aspirin, vinegar, and garlic will help your memory. You called me an idiot! Unwise people tend to speak impulsively, spouting out whatever is on their minds without first considering the value of their words. Me,I’m too big to take offense and too noble to give it. May You Have A Blessed Day!
