It was good advice four years ago, when L.A. Times fitness guru Jay Blahnik offered it to readers, and for anyone who worries about a bit of slippage on New Year’s exercise resolutions, it’s just as good now. Here, slightly modified for reasons of attitude, are Jay Blahnik’s five excellent tips for sticking with it in 2012.
1. Buy your gear now. There may be a post-holiday sale.
2. Make a list of yearly exercise goals, then break them into smaller, easier-to-achieve quarterly goals.
3. Recruit a reliable workout buddy.
4. Talk about your goals. This will jack up accountability, if only for fear of public embarrassment.
5. Get psyched. Think positive. You can do this.
