Talk about a painful realization: researchers at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center have learned that daily use of aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen and naproxen is associated with a 22 percent increase in the risk of erectile dysfunction. The Los Angeles Times reports that the researchers studied 80,966 men, ages 45 to 69, assessing the men's use of NSAIDs. They found that 47.4 percent of the men in the study were considered regular NSAID users and 29.3 percent reported moderate or severe ED. The Times reports that, because ED is often caused by inflammation, many of the men may have been taking the pain relievers to treat inflammation.
I don’t know about pain meds, but never knew an alcoholic that didn’t suffer from it.
So does diet coke!Your drinking water, bath soap, tooth past, mouth wash, coffee, sugar, white bread, and the ink on your news paper! Don’t worry!be happy! It will all be ok,just give it about 50 years are so it will be fine! OLD SAYING: If you believe everything you read, don’t read!
Men from 49 to 69 have a large percentage of anti-inflamatory users, of those in that age range will experience ED anyway from hypogonadism also known as Low T (Testosterone) or vascular disease. To say NSAIDs are responsible for 22 % increase is anicdotal at best. How many of them saw an andrology specialist (Urologist trained in male endocrinology) ? Zero ! Proof !No staff at that facility is listed by the AUA (american urological society) as an andrologist as like at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas who have 2 , Dr Lipshultz and Dr Khera. This would mean all NSAID drugs either cause vascular disease or Low T , The two primary causes of ED, which there is no detailed data to support the claim.
NEWS FLASH: The use of Viagra and other male enhancement drugs linked to erectile dysfunction.
Within the article. It said that ED is often caused by inflammation and many men are taking these pain relievers to ease inflammation. So maybe it’s not the pain relievers.
In my case, for as long as I can carry the pain, I wouldn’t mind taking medicine.
Aging men tend to take more painkillers and experience more sexual problemsâ€â€but does that mean one causes the other?
This public health threat requires an all-out effort to raise awareness of the public about proper use, storage, and disposal of these powerful drugs.
