Coffee Cuts Stroke Risk, At Least For Women

Researchers have found reasons to believe that coffee does many wonderful things: it reduces the risk of gallstones, colon cancer, liver disease and Parkinson’s, and of course, it boosts endurance. Almost forgot: it may ward off dementia. Now comes new research, published in the journal Stroke, that suggests that drinking coffee lowers stroke risk by 22 to 25 percent over a decade, at least for women.The Boston Globe reports on the Swedish study– in which nearly 35,000 women were followed for a decade after reporting their coffee intake on a 1997 dietary survey. Women in the study who drank as little as one cup a day to more than five cups a day had a lower stroke risk than those who drank none, although there was no greater benefit to drinking four or five cups a day.

  1. No!!! Just a week ago they posted one that said that coffee was bad for you!! Now this week its good for you!Will somebody make up their minds!!! IS IT GOOD FOR YOU ARE NOT??? Does anybody know for sure,one way or the other???? I guess it goes back to old proverb: If you believe everything you read-you don’t need to read!
