What's good for bones is not necessarily good for the heart. That's the suggestion of research conducted at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, where scientists found that a meta-analysis of earlier studies revealed a 27 to 31 percent increased risk of heart attacks in women taking calcium without vitamin D. HealthDay reports that an initial study done at the universiity found that women who were randomized to take calcium and vitamin D as part of the study protocol had a modest 13 to 22 percent increased risk of cardiovascular problems, particularly heart attacks. The numbers grew more disturbing when researchers added in data from 13 unpublished trials involving almost 30,000 women, bumping the increased risk for heart attack up to 25 to 30 percent and, for a stroke, 15 to 20 percent.
Now,I wounder how many will rush out to get there wife some calcium supplement! Just kidding! And remember these five simple rules for life.#1-Free your heart from hatred.#2-Free your mind from worries.#3-Live simply.#4-Give more.#5-Expect less! And May God Bless and Keep You Safe. And thats the rest of the story!
I didn’t know that these supplements can raise heart risk. Thanks a lot for sharing that information. I think we shouldn’t take too much or too little amount of these supplements to avoid certain health problems.
