Where to Buy the Latest Anti-oxidant Powerhouse: Black Rice

For centuries before any of you readers were born, black rice was known as "forbidden rice," and could only be enjoyed by the emperors of China. Why? Because the emperors said so. In recent days, it has become known as an antioxidant missile, one that may be helpful in fighting cancer, heart disease, and other health
problems. WebMD reports that researchers at Louisiana State University have found that a spoonful of black rice bran contains more health
promoting anthocyanin antioxidants than are found in a spoonful of
blueberries, but with less sugar and more fiber and vitamin E
antioxidants.

Where can you buy the stuff? It can be bought online at OrganicDirect and other merchants easily found with help from Google.

  1. ill have to try the black rice, might be good, but so far i think acai, blueberries and maqui berry is the way to go

  2. 3/31/11 — It’s the black rice BRAN that is supposed to have all the good stuff. Places to purchase it I have not found as yet, so I hesitate to waste money on black rice without the bran, even though it sounds tasty.

    • Molly, have you found black rice bran yet? I have been searching endlessly. I can’t even find someone who would have a rice pearler so they could take off the bran from the black rice. I want to find black rice bran for my favorite Uncle Ted for health reasons. Let me know any suggestions, ideas, help…Thank you.
