Testosterone Makes Women Suspicious

The benefits that testosterone brings to the hearts, skeletons and muscles of men are well documented, but what it does for women is just being revealed, and it is surprising researchers. BusinessWeek reports that researchers at Northwestern University studied the effects of the hormone on 24 women, with an average age of 20. The women were given a dose of
testosterone or a placebo before ranking photographs of strangers, using a trustworthiness scale from -100 to
+100. Three days later, the women were given another dose — testosterone
if they’d gotten a placebo earlier, and vice versa — and then looked
at photographs again. The researchers found that the women who were given testosterone were less likely to
rank faces as being trustworthy.
