It’s not only old folks who show up at hospitals with injuries caused by falls. Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh recently analyzed health data from 10,615 people, aged 20 to 87, who reported falling in the previous year. HealthDay reports that the researchers learned that people 65 and older were no more likely to fall than younger people, largely because younger people were more likely to take part in riskier activities. The researchers also learned that men with low fitness levels were 2.2 times more likely to fall than men with high fitness levels, and that as little as two hours of exercise a week could reduce their risk of falling.
