First the numbers: Half of us snore, and it's not necessarily the male half. Next, a warning: Half of those people who snore loudly have sleep apnea, a medical condition that can (and should) be diagnosed with an overnight sleep test. For the rest of us, Walecia Konrad, writing in the New York Times, has four pieces of advice:
1. Lose weight
2. Sleep on your side
3. Don't drink (alcohol) before going to bed
4. Take a hot shower (to clear nasal passages) before going to bed
What doesn't work? Konrad tells us to save our money, rather than spend it on special pillows, strange mouth and nose devices, or breathing exercises.
for those who hates snoring.
