Geezer doesn't know which question to ask: why women worry about it, or why men don't. According to research conducted at Brigham Young University and reported in ScienceDaily, bran scans of women who were shown pictures of strangers, some fat, some not fat, showed evidence of
extreme unhappiness or self-loathing when the women looked at pictures of fat women. The women who were screened had exhibited no evidence of eating disorders of body image problems. What happened when the men looked pictures of other men who were fat? Nothing.
obviously none of the men tested had ever or were taking part in a sport that imposed weight limits for the participants, like boxing, full contact karate, wrestling, power lifting and body building 9where body fat is the ultimate enemy and i can still hear coaches saying, at a great volume, “you can’t flex fat”.
William is correct. Man can indeed be as compulsive as women regarding weight in the appropriate situation. That said, I do notice when running on the roads that there are more women out there concerned about their health and diet. Men seem to believe that driving an SUV, snowmobile or watching sports on the tube with the remote in one hand and a beer in the other qualifies them as being fit. They just don’t seem to get it.
