The DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet, a specialized diet rich in fruits and vegetables and low in saturated fats, really does what it is intended to do, according to researchers at Johns Hopkins University Medical School. HealthDay reports that scientists at the school studied 436 people with high blood pressure or borderline hypertension. The subjects were
assigned to either the DASH diet; a typical American diet, or an American diet plus more fruits and vegetables. After eight weeks, the DASH dieters had reduced their risk of heart attack
18 percent (based on the Framingham Heart Study risk equation) compared with those eating the American diet. They also saw
their low-density lipoprotein (“bad”) cholesterol levels reduced by
about 7 percent and their systolic blood pressure lowered by 7 mm Hg.

Of course anyone who eats more fruits and veggies is going to improve their health. This is nothing new, and the info is free! GOOD FOOD, thats what you have to look for. There is not a single thing to loose, except weight, and poor health, by eating GOOD FOOD! WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW???
