Carbing Up Without the Carbs

New York Times health and fitness expert Gina Kolata reports on a remarkable revelation: athletes can get the energy of a carbohydrate boost simply by rinsing out their mouths with a carbohydrate mix. No swallowing necessary. Researchers, Kolata reports, believe the brain is tricked into thinking the body is going to get a boatload of carbs, and responds by "prompting muscles and nerves to work harder."

    Only “Trick” here is Marketing Baloney. We should rinse their mouths with soap before the tar and feathers.

  2. I can imagine seeing “spittoons” in every gym, the “wann’a bees” swishing and spitting as they try to impress with an over loaded bar and only half movements at best…and they do the “strut” before they swish and spit and do it again.
    Some suppliment manufacture (or several of them…) is probably working on the ad for this product as I type…
    And one day, we all ( men and women) will look like “Arnold”!, and that’s a frighteneing thought!
