BPA Shown to Increase Testosterone

BPA,
a chemical used in the manufacture of many plastic drinking bottles, has been shown to increase the level of testosterone in men. The Peninsula College of Medicine in the United Kingdom reports that when researchers at the school measured the levels of BPA and testosterone in 715 Italian men between the ages of 20 and 74, they found that higher BPA exposure was statistically associated
with endocrine changes in men, specifically with small increases in levels of
testosterone.

Which is strange, because BPA, which has long been known to be an endocrine disruptor, has also been associated with erectile dysfunction, which is widely considered a consequence of low testosterone. Yes, it's all very confusing, and manly.
