Aspirin Cuts Prostate Cancer Death Risk

Chalk up yet another benefit of a daily dose of aspirin. Researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas have learned that aspirin can significantly decrease the risk of death for men suffering from prostate cancer. Reuters reports that the researchers looked at a cohort of 5,275 men whose cancer had not spread beyond the prostate gland, 1,982 of whom were taking anticoagulants such as aspirin. The study revealed that after 10 years, those who took the drugs had a 4 percent risk of dying from prostate cancer, compared to 10 percent for men who did not take anticoagulants. BusinessWeek reports that teh researchers also found that the chances of the cancer spreading to the bone were reduced while PSA (prostate-specific antigen) blood levels — thought to be a marker for cancer’s advance — were also better controlled.

  1. Good old aspirin! Nothing like it,cures everything. You name it,aspirin will take care of it.But don’t tell every one because its to cheap! The big drug company’s cant make any money off of it,and they will tell you that its no good for you!Because they wont you to buy ibuprofen or naproxen which is moor harmful to you’re body, but that’s alright we make moor money off of it. You get the picture? Aspirin is like an apple, one a day keeps the doctor away! Thanks and have a Blessed Day.
