Washington Post’s Gift Guide for Fitness

The most intriguing gift in this year’s Washington Post fitness gift guide has got to be Vibram Five Fingers running shoes, which look more like gloves for your feet than shoes. Vibram claims the shoes allow one to “experience the senVibram-five-finger200sation and freedom of going barefoot with the protection and sure-footed grip of a Vibram sole.” And they may. Next question: is the experience
worth $125?

  1. 125 is kind of expensive, which pair were you looking at. I think the most popular ones are the kso’s here:

it’s true some of them are more expensive like the mocs:

but at this time i dont think its worth it for those.. they do seem comfortable though.

If one wants the sensation of running barefoot why don’t they take off their shoes and run, which cost nothing and only takes a few seconds?
I guess I missed something and this culture keeps me confused as they seem to perfer the artificial rather than the real and so never ned up simply being.
    thanks

  3. Running barefoot in the city is not ideal with the possibility of stepping on a sharp object. Not too practical or safe!
