Geezer is fairly confident that a post about the perfect poop will be either his best-read or worst-read column ever. For that and other reasons, such as his irrepressible curiosity about what ads, exactly, Google will place on a page devoted to poop, he is compelled to advise readers of this Washington Post inquiry of Hilary Garivaltis, dean of the school of ayurveda at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Mass., concerning what to look for in a normal, healthy bowel movement. Are you ready? Here we go:
Your feces should be shaped like a banana, tapered at both
ends, and medium brown in color. It should be neither too dry nor too
liquid.It should come easily, without a lot of straining. You should experience a sense of completion when you’re done.
Stool should float in the toilet water.
The Post reports that those admirable traits suggest that you’re digesting food
and absorbing nutrients properly. If, on the other hand, your stool consists of small,
hard, dry pellets, you may have too much vata, one of the three doshas;
counter vata with moist, warm foods. If your stool is very loose,
watery and unformed, you may need to balance your pitta with cold, dry
foods. But you knew that. The Post also suggests that readers read more about ayurveda and nutrition in today’s “Eat, Drink and Be Healthy” column.

the reason they are tapered on both ends is so that the butt hole doesn’t slappp shut
Any defecation you walk away from is a good one.
with the food americans eat today they must pray for a hedge of protection around it to keep them healthy
Excellent expo….Eating legumes (peas beans) and High fiber foods ( Bran flakes, oatmeal, veggies & fruits) ) guarantee the stated results….solid meats (Steak, pork), pasty foods (pasta, rice, breads)…do not….sorry !
As a college professor once told us, “There is nothing as over-rated as sex, and as under-rated as a good bowell movement”.
