Kudzu, the irrepressible vine whose name is synonymous with unwanted houseguests, could save our lives, or at least a few of our organs. The Los Angeles Times reports on research conducted at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, whose results suggest that kudzu can help regulate blood pressure, glucose metabolism and cholesterol levels. Scientists at the schools gave half of a rat population kudzu root extract and
the other half got none. After two months, the rats that had the kudzu diet showed significantly lowered arterial pressure. Doubtful? Read an abstract from the study in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
The authors of the study wrote that their efforts "suggest that polyphenols in kudzu root
may provide a nonpharmacological complement to traditional approaches
for treating hypertension."
Found another site where they are lauding the estrogenic properties of the root. Don’t need larger man boobs.
So… how do you fry it up?
Bacon Grease should compliment the Kudzu !!!
Guess Big Pharma will claim it owns all kudzu and it can’t be killed now. Will be arrested if you trespass. I prefer cream sauce on it though
Gonna stay in ga. an plow up the dental floss an plant some kudsu.
It has been found that extract of the roots from the kudzu creeper had a potential to curtail unfavourable signs of metabolic syndrome. It has been experimented on rats and no side-effects has been found. But since it still not been experimented on humans, scientists have not yet recommended it for people.
That is really very informative article. Thank you very much for sharing a nice article. I will visit this site in future also.
