about the amount of alcohol a person consumes, Geezer has noticed, can take sudden and unrewarding turns. Consequently, Geezer is reluctant, in all but a few situations, to suggest that another person should quit drinking. On the other hand, Geezer has little trouble suggesting that another person should think carefully about the number of Tanqueray martinis that could possibly be good for one's health. The three tips below on how to slow, not stop, the flow of alcohol into one's body, are taken from a helpful website put together by David Hanson, a sociologist at the State University of New York, Potsdam.
1. Write down your reasons for drinking less.
2. Set a drinking goal–for women, one drink a day is good; men can push it to two.
3. Keep a diary of your drinking, writing down the time, place and what exactly you drink.
